Both CartPro and CartTrak can be licensed for local area networks. Below you will find instruction on preparing your software to work on a network.

1. You must map a drive to the shared CartPro directory. You can do this from within File Manager or Explorer. Browse to the computer with the shared drive, click tools, then map a network drive. Be sure to check the box that reconnects on logon.
2. You must install the full setup from each PC to the network drive that contains the shared CartPro - This is necessary to get the system files in the windows system directory on each PC and setup the icons correctly.
3. You must utilize SHARE or VSHARE on Windows systems - this is usually defaulted when networking anyway. The Cartpro full setup(install.exe from this page or diskettes from VIVID) will automatically set vshare when installing the program.

On Novell networks you must flag the files in the CartPro directory Shareable, Read, Write - from DOS the command to do this is "FLAG *.* SRW".

CartPro implements customer level locking for most screens which will allow multiple users to safely enter invoices, create new customers, accept payments, etc. at the same time. CartPro will display a warning if someone else is already in the customer record. If a message is displayed and you know for sure that no one else is in the customer you can reset the lock.
